Steve Bruce’s side now find themselves near the summit of the table, and after drawing their last game at thr KC Stadium, three points is a must. The 10/11 available on the Tiger’s home win is sure to see plenty of attention.
Then there is a Yorkshire derby taking place as Sheffield Wednesday take on Huddersfield Town. Wednesday have won their last three, which has seen them move out of the drop zone so they will expect another victory here. Dave Jones has turned things around and the 2/1 on the away win looks very backable.
Moving onto the 3PM games, league-leaders Cardiff City will be looking to maintain their five point lead when they host Millwall, who are sitting just outside of the top six at the moment.
The Bluebirds won a tough top of the table clash over Crystal Palace in their last game as Malky McKay’s side look another decent proposition at 10/11.
There is also a big battle at the bottom of the table and Bristol City are at home to Peterborough United. With both teams in the relegation zone, this is a real six pointer, but Peterborough are in good spirits after winning their last three.
Neither Wolverhampton Wanderers nor Ipswich Town have had the season they would have wanted so far and they meet at Molineux this weekend, whilst Bolton Wanderers take on Birmingham City.
Crystal Palace have moved down to fourth in the league after not winning in their last four encounters. They head to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and the players could still be a bit shocked after the sacking of Sean O’Driscoll on Boxing Day.
Alex Mcleish has been installed as the new manager at the City Ground and his side can be backed at 7/5 to reward their new manager with a win.
Leicester City know that they might need to win at Burnley to stay in the top six this weekend, so only three points will do for Nigel Pearson’s men, who have not won in four now. Turf Moor is a tough place to visit at the moment however, and with only one defeat in their last seven there are owrse bets to be had than the 12/5 available on the home win.
Blackburn Rovers have also sacked their manager, Henning Berg, after less than two months in charge and they head to Barnsley on Saturday, with Derby County travelling to Charlton Athletic being the final 3PM game to look at.
There is then one evening kick-off and it sees Brighton & Hove Albion host Watford. Watford have moved into the top six, but Brighton are just three points behind them, so this should be a cracking way to round-off the days action.
