Neil Warnock has brought in a few players on emergency loan, most notably Jerome Thomas and Alan Tate from Swansea, who could all go straight into the side as The Liily Whites look for their first win in seven. The odds of 2/1 on the home win at Elland Road look a very tempting prospect.
Ipswich Town and Peterborough United go up against each other at Portman Road in what is a massive encounter at the bottom of the table. These two currently sit in the relegation zone – making this a real six pointer.
Two teams with very different ambitions for the season also go head-to-head as Middlesbrough, who are in third, host relegation candidates Bristol City.
Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Nottingham Forest in a Midlands derby as well, whilst Bolton Wanderers make the journey to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Second placed Cardiff City will have three points on their mind when they head to a Barnsley side that have not won in five. Malky MacKay has kept the Bluebirds ticking over at the summit of the table, and with their hosts with only one win in their last eleven, the 8/5 on the away win is sure to attract plenty of attention.
Hull City are at home to Burnley on Saturday afternoon and the hosts can head into third if results go their way, as Steve Bruce’s side continue their march up the table in confident manner. At 5/6 they are very backable.
Also, Leicester City are away to struggling Sheffield Wednesday in another game between two sides in different spirits. Nigel Pearson’s side got back to winning ways with a 6-0 thrashing of Ipswich last week, and that win will have boosted confidence following a patchy run of form.
Wednesday have lost three on the bounce, so the 7/5 on the Foxes away win looks one of the bets of the weekend.
Blackburn Rovers will be looking to build on their first win under Henning Berg on Saturday as they take on Millwall at Ewood Park. However, the away team have not tasted defeat in ten and can overhaul their opponents with a victory in this one. It all makes for a fantastic 90 minutes of action.
Charlton Athletic have won their last three and climbed up the table, so will be full of confidence when they lock horns with Huddersfield Town. Blackpool and Watford also go head-to-head.
There is then one game on Saturday evening and it sees another Midlands derby take place as Birmingham City head to Derby County. Neither side are in great form at the moment, so a win here could really kick-start their season.
It should be a fantastic day of competitive matches here.
