It has been confirmed that Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the loan deal for Leeds United forward Billy Paynter
Paynter had attracted interested from many different Championship and League one clubs, however Seagulls manager Gus Poyet has won the race to his signature.
The 27-year-old has been unable to secure a place in the Leeds first team and has found himself only being a fringe player, and now Elland Road boss Simon Grayson has now allowed him to move to the Amex Stadium.
Grayson had recently publically stated that he was only going to allow Paynter to move to a League one club on loan, as he did not want to strengthen any of his Championship rivals squads.
The move will see Paynter move to Brighton until January, where he will attempt to impress both Grayson and Poyet.
Paynter will now be included in Brighton’s squad this week to face Birmingham.
