Sport does take a big role in our lives but when you look at it and think deep down is it really that important to us it makes you wonder if someone else should be benefiting too? Some will prefer to stake a £5 bet on the outcome of a match whereas others would spend £30 in a pub whilst watching the game.

The following are some charities we have picked out that you might want to have a look into and read up on, perhaps even donate a few quid. There are so many ways to donate these days it’s too difficult to say they won’t accept your debit or credit card. With some you can even use paypal.

Check through these great charities to see if you should make a contribution to someone else’s lives.

Help For Heroes Our lads and ladettes do a fantastic job both domestically and abroad for the military and this charity is simply awesome for helping out those who have been affected whilst in the services.

Sir Bobby Robson Foundation There are not many managers who are quite up there with the late Sir Bobby Robson. A great man and a great manager. His foundation supports those effected by cancer.

NSPCC Protecting children is something most have in their blood, sadly there are those that think it is right to hurt children. The NSPCC with your help are one of those charities that you really should be donating a little to each month.

Autistica Autism effects many more people than one would believe, fortunately Autistica is one charity that can help not only those with autism but those close to them too.
