Chelsea agree deal with Premiership defender

Villas Boas had admitted to being interested in Gary CahillChelsea FC have agreed a fee with Bolton Wanderers regarding a move for centre-back Gary Cahill.

The sides have been in talks for some time with regards to Cahill and all that now remains are personal details between the player and Chelsea.

Cahill was coming to the end of his contract with Bolton Wanderers forcing the club to very much sell this January or risk losing him for nothing in the summer. Bolton manager Coyle told the clubs website:

“The situation is that the clubs, Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea, have at this moment in time agreed a fee for Gary. Now it is up to Gary’s representatives to speak to Chelsea. From our part, I’ve said to Gary that this is why he has representatives and that his focus is on football and football only.”

The Bolton manager did however claim that Cahill would be focusing on the Wolves fixture.

“Gary’s mind will be on making sure that he is ready to give a big performance for Bolton Wanderers against Wolves. He has to be ready to give everything, as he always is.”
