Chelsea and Liverpool have had their chances rebuffed regarding a move for teenage striker Lucas Ocampos in January and will have to revisit the situation again next summer.
Liverpool have been monitoring the youngster for some time and there had been talk of a loan deal to take him to Anfield to start off with. Chelsea meanwhile are on the lookout for young potential and see Lucas as someone who could make the difference in the future.
Liverpool are also still smarting after receiving their orders for Luis Suarez who is the subject of an 8 match ban, a ban that will leave the side short of firepower as they continue to try and push through to the top four.
The vice president of Lucas’ current club, River Plate, Diegoe Turnes has confirmed that there are offers on the table but that no move shall be forthcoming.
“We have had offers from Italy and England but the kid will not leave the club.”
The quote by Turnes will add extra pressure to Dalglish’s side who will want to bring in another striker as soon as possible.
