Chelsea Boss Confirms Porto Defender Bid

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that the Blues have made a reasonable bid for Porto full-back Alvaro Pereira
Pereira was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier this week, and now it has been confirmed that an approach has been made for the Uruguay international.

Andre Villas-Boas worked with Pereira at Porto, and it is rumoured that he is interested in a number of their star players as Pereira is not the first to be reportedly linked with Chelsea. The new Blue boss left the Portuguese champions this summer for England and it was highly expected he would make a move for his former players.

Talks have not started between the clubs yet, but Pereira is now a player Chelsea are desperate to sign. An official offer has been put to Porto for the 25-year-old, however Villas-Boas is not convinced the deal will go through.

“The only thing I can confirm is we have made a bid and are very far apart in terms of numbers,” Villas-Boas said.
