Chelsea FC are believed to be considering a move for young Barcelona teenager Sergi Roberto who only joined the main side this May after coming through the ranks of Barcelona B.
It would not be the first time that Chelsea have become keen on some of Barcelona’s youngsters with last summer the West London club showing interest in Alcantara. Chelsea are in need of some young talent within the midfield area and although Roberto would not be an immediate fix to the aging of Frank Lampard he would certainly be considered something for the long term.
The playmaking midfield area of Chelsea’s is in need of some work and with Tottenham Hotspur having remained stubborn in Chelsea’s quest for Luka Modric, and Andre Villas-Boas’ side failing to snap up Javier Pastore with PSG purchasing the playmaker, the side are now looking at long term options as well as someone who could immediatley replace Lampard.
With Sergi Roberto only having just joined the Barcelona first team and having already made an impact in the Champions League, Barcelona may not be prepared to let him go however their current debt suggests certain players will become available for a specific price.
