Chelsea definitely after centre-back
Chelsea FC manager Andre Villas Boas has confirmed that the club are in the market for a new central defender practically suggesting that a move for Gary Cahill will be completed by January.
The fact that Alex has handed in a transfer request, and with John Terry to learn his fate over the Anton Ferdinand situation has seen the young Chelsea manager look close to home as he seeks someone to be able to step into the fray with Premiership experience.
“We could have David Luiz available to return on Boxing Day, but we are in the market for another centre-half and we have to respond quickly when the transfer window opens.”
