Chelsea FC will now face French competition for the signature of Palermo’s Javier Pastore after the club’s president Maurizio Zamparini confirmed that PSG have also placed a bid for the young playmaker.
“There are three or four important proposals, we’ll exchange opinions, then go to France and England for negotiations. The interested clubs are Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea and also something in Spain, but that depends on who Real Madrid manage to sell.”
Although Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche suggested on Sunday that Pastore is likely to choose Chelsea as his next club, PSG, with their renewed wealth, will be in the market to offer the 22 year old an excellent wage.
Should Pastore go ahead with the thoughts of his current vice-president then Pastore could very well become Chelsea first major summer signing with manager Andre Villas Boas keen to add up to four fresh faces as he embarks on his first season in charge of the Stamford Bridge outift.
