Chelsea FC playmaker expecting Villas Boas to use squad depth
Chelsea FC’s Frank Lampard has admitted that he fully expects 33 year old manager Andre Villas Boas to include the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Josh McEachran and Romeu into the side if need be.
Chelsea seem to be focusing on youth this summer having invested heavily in Juan Mata at just 23 years of age and Lukaku, who is not yet 19.
Lampard explained:
“You can’t buy experience, we are introducing that youth in the signings we’ve made and with some of the players we have here already. I know for a fact the manager won’t be scared to throw them in and play them in important games because there is a lot of trust in the players.”
The Chelsea midfielder added:
“Age is something people throw in when you have a bad game or a bad result and it’s an easy answer. The answer will be seen at the end of the season.”
