Chelsea FC are ready to step up in their attempts to try and land Real Madrid winger Ángel di María despite being told by the Spanish giants last month that the player is not currently for sale.
The Stamford Bridge club are looking to add width to the side and whilst initial enquiries by Chelsea were rebuffed, they were informed that they would be the first to know should anything change. However with Real Madrid currently packed with talent, Villas-Boas may be preparing an offer to tempt Jose Mourinho’s side into allowing di Maria talk with the club.
The 23 year old only joined Real Madrid in 2010 for a transfer fee that could easily rise to €36m should numerous incentives come into effect so he will not come cheaply and to tempt Real into selling the former Benfica flyer could cost the West London club at least £30m.
