Chelsea FC to face fight for Argentine striker

Agüero wants a move but Atletico insist they will talk to himChelsea FC may not yet get their man Sergio Aguero quite yet according to Atletico Madrid’s sporting director Jose Caminero.

It was suggested last week that Chelsea’s “negotiating team” were in Madrid recently to either look into the acquisition of Aguero or Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago however Caminero insists that the La Liga side want to keep hold of the 22 year old striker and will arrange a chance to talk to him.

It was also revealed last week that the striker would not be allowed a move to rivals Real paving a way clear for either Chelsea or Barcelona to make a possible approach with Aguero insisting that he would like to move on.

Caminero said of the situation.

“Aguero is still an Atletico player and my intention is to keep him here. I want to talk with him, see what he thinks and make a decision from that point, but today he is an Atletico player and a player everybody wants.”

A player that everyone wants is not far from the truth however a transfer figure reported to be around £40m will need to be paid and as money talks, Caminero may want to see a firm offer before deciding against Aguero’d departure. With Chelsea likely to be selling Nicolas Anelka this summer a position will be available however with the return of Sturridge and the mystery regarding Didier Drogba’s future uncertain a bid could still be on the cards for the Argentine.
