Chelsea FC to make massively improved offer for playmaker
Chelsea’s frustration at Luka Modric’s silence on a potential move to the West London club has grown to such an extent that they are now preparing one final improved offer for the Tottenham playmaker in the hope it may bring the Croatian out of his shell.
Talks were held earlier in the week between Modric and Daniel Levy in the hope that the 25 year old would remain at White Hart Lane, however with Chelsea now ready to offer £30m for Modric, it could well open wounds that saw Modric telling the media whilst on holiday that he would like to join Chelsea.
Tottenham have been strong in approaches for Modric and have claimed quite openly that he is not for sale however Chelsea feel that a hugely improved offer may kick start proceedings. Despite Chelsea already having very much sealed a deal for Palermo’s Javier Pastore, Villas-Boas wants a player with Premiership experience in his new squad and feels Modric will be the man to take the club forward with Lampard playing what one could describe as a “Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes” type role for the club over the coming seasons.
