Chelsea FC are preparing a raid on Real Madrid’s Fernando Gago accoring to Spanish sources.
The 25 year old Argentinian has been at the Bernabeu since 2007 picking up over 100 appearance for the club and the Stamford Bridge club see the tenacious midfielder as a good option to cover the possible departure of John Obi Mikel who has been linked with a move to Italy.
Gago, who has only just turned 25 is at an age that the Chelsea hierarchy see as one to add to the likes of their recent younger signings Ramires and Luiz. Gago has not had too many minutes on the filed this season under Jose Mourinho and it is believed the defensive midfielder will look to move at the end of the season.
With Chelsea missing out on silverware this season, owner Abramovich is already looking at options prior to deciding on who the next manager will be, and is looking for a fresh surge of ambition for the next season.
