Chelsea forward admits title is the priority

Malouda has admitted that the Premier League is Chelsea's main priorityChelsea FC forward Florent Malouda has claimed that the Premiership is the clubs main priority this season but that winning the Carling Cup in February could be the boost to pushing the side forwards.

Chelsea defeated Everton on Wednesday evening 2-1 after going into extra time with Malouda playing as captain and admits it was a good result to win at Goodison Park but that they must now remain calm as they look to get their Premier League campaign back on track after defeat to QPR last weekend.

Talking to the clubs official website the Chelsea forward said:

“The League is our priority. You need to start well but also to finish well as well, and we are coming into a period where we play a lot of games and every point is important, we stay calm and have to play Arsenal this weekend. With a win we can expect great things for the rest of the season.”

When asked if he would like to bring the Carling Cup to Stamford Bridge the 31 year old said:

“Of course we want to win, we feel if we win a competition in February it can be the start of a great finish for us,”

Chelsea next face Arsenal with both sides experiencing their own unique issues at this early stage of the campaign in the Premiership.
