Chelsea maestro on brink of Blues exit

It’s understood that Chelsea midfielder, Yossi Benayoun, is close to leaving the club and is engaged in talks with several clubs.

Manager, Andre Villas-Boas has chosen to go with other midfield options since his arrival at the club that has caused the Israeli to see only one minute of Premier League action so far this season.

Benayoun was understood to be used as a makeweight in any deal to bring Luka Modric to Stamford Bridge, however that deal looks to be off as Spurs seek to hold on to their talisman.

The midfielder arrived at the West London team 12 months ago, but was restricted to just ten appearances for the Blues, as he struggled to cope with an Achilles injury that ruled him out of action for six months.

Newcastle United are just one of the teams vying for Benayoun’s signature.
