Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has spoken of his sides recent comeback to be within striking distance of league leaders Manchester United and that the team are right back in the race.
Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur last weekend whilst Manchester United lost to Arsenal at the Emirates meaning only three points separate the side with goal difference equal.
Whilst Essien believes victory at Old Trafford can be achieved, he states it can only be done with the fan support.
“We have hit a good run of form lately and have managed to haul ourselves back into the title race. We have to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend to ensure we are in the driving seat and I can assure you we are up for it. The team is playing well and I have no doubt we will give it everything we have to beat Man United.”
The Chelsea midfielder added.
“We need all the support we can get from you, the fans, and I have no doubt you will be there for us when we need you most.”
Should Chelsea beat Manchester United on Sunday then both teams will require plenty of goals to try and seal the Premiership title and it could all boil down to the simplicity that is goal difference.
