New Chelsea manager, Andre Villas-Boas is reported to be setting up a move to bring Milan striker, Alexandre Pato, to Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian is seen as a potential staple in the Chelsea attack, given that the rumoured departures of Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou could be on the horizon.
Villas-Boas has the unenviable task of getting the best out of £50m striker, Fernando Torres, but despite that burden is still keen to spend on offensive reinforcements.
Chelsea have had their eye fixated on Pato for some three years now, with nothing coming of the rumours as of yet. However, the new Portuguese manager may be set to make his first big money signing with the Blues.
It’s understood that the Italian club value the 21 year-old at somewhere near £35m, with Chelsea ready to meet that with £20m plus either Kalou or Anelka.
Pato has made just over 100 appearances for Milan, scoring 50 goals in the process.
