Chelsea rock to do “whatever it takes”

Terry has vowed to do what it takes to clear his nameChelsea captain John Terry has insisted he will do “whatever it takes” to clear his name of racist abuse alleged to have been committed by the player by QPR centre-back Anton Ferdinand.

QPR are expected to at some point today meet up with Anton Ferdinand to discuss whether Ferdinand would like to take the matter further and have the situation investigated.

The alleged abuse apparently happend during the recent 1-0 loss for Chelsea against QPR at the weekend bu Terry claims that there is nothing further to discuss after he admitted talking to the QPR defender for ten minutes after the match had finished.

Talking to the Daily Mail, Terry said:

“I’ll do whatever it takes to clear my name and I don’t have anything to hide. I’m not taking that level of abuse. Anton and I spoke for 10 minutes in the dressing room after the game and there is no issue between us. It’s finished.”

Chelsea manager Andre Villas Boas has also backed his captain and claims that the matter has been taken to a level it should not have reached in the first place.

“We fully back John, he spoke to Anton after the game. For us it was end of story. It’s just a big misunderstanding and something blown out of proportion.”
