Chelsea set Asking Price for Winger

Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa is convinced that Chelsea target Alvaro Pereira will not leave the club for anything less than his release clause.

New Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to recruit his former player before the end of the transfer window. The Uruguay international is dominantly a left midfielder but can also play at left-back, and the Blues have already had a £15million bid rejected.

Pinto da Costa says the deal was quickly rejected and Villas-Boas has confirmed that the deal is still very far away.
Pereira has a release clause of €30million (£26.5m) on his contract and Pinto da Costa has confirmed that any bid under that will be rejected.

“Chelsea made us an offer for Pereira, but it took just 30 seconds to turn it down,” said Pinto da Costa.”
“Every player who has an escape clause in his contract can leave if somebody makes us an offer that matches that fee.”
“But for Pereira, that escape clause is €30million.”
