Chelsea have completed the signing of Mexico Under-20 international Ulises Davilla from Chivas Guadalajara. The young star finalised his move to Stamford Bridge on Saturday for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 20-year-old can play as either an attacking midfielder or as a forward and has agreed a five-year-contract.
“Ulises has been a highly scouted player by a lot of clubs and has made great progress in the last couple of tournaments we have seen him play in,” technical director Michael Emenalo told the club’s offical website.
“Chivas is a superb club with a strong reputation in player development and world football and we are confident Ulises will be able to continue his fast development to become an important Chelsea first-team player.”
Davilla was included in the Mexico squad that reached the semi-final of this month’s under-20 World Cup in Columbia.
He is Chelsea’s fifth summer signing, following Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu and Thibaut Courtois.
