Young Chelsea left-back Patrick van Aanholt has signed a new four year deal according to the clubs official website.
The 20 year old joined Chelsea in 2009 and is seen as the man to be Ashley Coles long term replacement. Van Aanholt, who turns 21 this summer has spent loan periods at Coventry City, Newcastle United and Leicester City since his arrival and also has international caps at U-17 and U-19 level for the Netherlands.
The statement read.
“Left-back Patrick van Aanholt has today (Monday) signed a new four-year contract.
The 20-year-old scored against Newcastle in the Carling Cup during his first start for the club back in September, having made his debut as a substitute in 2009/10.”
The deal means van Aanholt shall remain on Chelsea’s book until 2015.
