Chelsea are still in the fight to land Brazilian starlet Neymar who currently plays for Santos despite it being reported in South America that the player is ready to sign a long term deal with Real Madrid.
The battle for his signature has been going on since the start of the summer and although there were reports of at least five clubs interested in the youngster, three have now been taken off the wishlist with Neymar preferring either Chelsea or the Spanish giants.
The left sided forward is seen by many as the missing link within Chelsea’s side at the moment but any arrival at Stamford Bridge will not come cheap with a value believed to be close to £50m being talked about. The player has always suggested he would like to play in London although he has also spoken highly of Jose Mourinho’s Madrid.
There appears to be certain terms that are holding a deal back for both clubs at the moment with strange requests having been made but should either Chelsea or Real Madrid pip the other to reach an agreement then the 19 year old should be on the move during the January transfer window.
