Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku looks to be heading out on loan in January to gain more experience before returning to the West London club in the summer with a move to either Spanish side Villarreal or Dutch outfit Ajax seemingly the most likely.
The 18 year old arrived from Anderlecht in the summer and has picked up three league appearances in the short months he has been with the club, however sources suggest that the Chelsea management can not offer the sort of game time they had expected to offer him and are looking for possible loan suitors for a January move.
Ajax and Villarreal have made their interest known and a loan will only be up to the end of the season with the youngster likely to get more experience, albeit not from the Premiership. There had been numerous rumours suggesting that Lukaku would head to a Premiership side last summer after signing for Chelsea however the manager at the time wanted to keep as many players from the original squad as possible.
Although heading back abroad may not be the preferred option from a fans point of view it will certainly allow the tall striker to get some big game experience in those respective leagues however one does wonder whether a move within the Premiership would be a better choice for the long term.
