Chelsea target Hulk admits he wants Premier League move

Chelsea have been offered a glimmer of hope in their pursuit of Hulk after the Porto striker stated his ambition to play in the Premier League the Daily Mail reports.

The Blues have been frontrunners for the Brazilian international’s signature for much of the summer despite strong interest from Real Madrid and mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain.

Boss Roberto Di Matteo and owner Roman Abramovich are huge admirers of the 26-year-old and hoped to have him in place at Stamford Bridge before the new Premier League season kicks off this weekend.

A failure to agree upon a fee with Porto, who were demanding clubs met the powerful front mans £80m release clause, left the transfer looking all but dead as Di Matteo cast his gaze to other striking targets.

However, a deal could now be resurrected with the Portuguese giants willing to accept £38m after Hulk reiterated his desire to leave the Estádio do Dragão with the two parties expected to hold showdown talks this week.

“I have left a door open for being transferred to another league,” he said.

“I have preference for playing in the Premier League or the Spanish Liga, because they are the two leagues that are the most seen all over the world.

“I didn’t talk too much with my agent about the chance of being transferred, because I have been on duty with the Brazilian national team at the Olympics.

“This could be the time for me to move. I would feel comfortable with moving clubs and the English league is one that appeals to me.

“I am going to talk about my future from Monday. My future is in the hands of God.”

Should Hulk get his way he could seal his move to the Champions League winners in time to feature in their opening game of the campaign away at Wigan on Sunday.
