Chelsea to pull out of Serie A striker chase

Edinson Cavani will no longer be targeted by Chelsea as they look to land HiguainChelsea FC are ready to pull out of the race for top Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani to allow Real Madrid their wish to take him to the Spanish capital thus allowing Chelsea to negotiate a deal for Gonzalo Higuain.

The La Liga side have been keen on Cavani for some time now but wanted to raise some cash before making their move, in what could be described as a strange twist, Real will only sell Higuain if they agree a deal with Napoli for next season and with the Argentine having been offered to Chelsea, the West London club would have to take themselves out of the picture for Cavani.

We have now been led to believe that this is the case with their just the “small” issue of a fee for Higuain between the clubs which could be close to £40m. There is also interest from AC Milan in Higuain which would mean Chelsea could revive interest in Cavani should the Real Madrid striker fancy a move to Italy instead of London.

As things stand all moves will not commence until the end of the season in which this transfer merry-go-round will evetually come to a halt with perhaps both Chelsea and Real Madrid happy.
