Team news, manger quotes, player quotes and prediction ahead of the Premier league clash between Chelsea and Norwich. Chelsea v Norwich team news.

Chelsea versus Norwich Team News

Chelsea will be without midfielder Ramires as he serves the second of his four game suspension for elbowing Sebastian Larsson however Frank Lampard, John Obi Mikel, Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah are available again after missing the midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Lampard and Mikel were suspended midweek while Matic and Salah were ineligible.

Norwich meanwhile will hope to have Joseph Yobo fit as they go in search of their first win under Neil Adams however Anthony Pilkington misses out.

What the managers are saying:

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on criticism on his tactics by Eden Hazard– I listened to the interview. There was nothing critical in what he said. When the comments come from a player like Eden its normal because he’s not the kind of player to sacrifice himself for the team. Normally you get these kind of comments from players like him, from players that can’t resolve a problem like we had in the first goal. Eden is the kind of player that is not so mentally ready to look back to his left-back and to leave his life for him. If you see the first goal of Atletico you completely understand where the mistake was and why we conceded that goal. The perfect team at the top level cannot make these kinds of mistakes.”

Norwich manager Neil Adams “The effort is there, the commitment is there, but it’s points we need. We’ve always known what we’re up against, but in terms of application it’s exactly what you need from a team in this situation. We just have to hope that translates into something at Stamford Bridge. We need to get points from our last two games. We will find out the other results on Saturday but we’ll need to get something from our game to be in with a chance when going into the Arsenal one.”

What the players are saying:

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill on bouncing back from Atletico defeat We have to be over it by the weekend. At the moment it’s raw and it will take some getting over but we’ll see what happens in the next few days.”

Norwich defender Michael Turner – “It is out of our hands so we will be aware of the results coming in and obviously we need teams to do us favours but when it comes to it on Sunday we need to make sure we do ourselves justice. Last weekend, Hull getting the draw at Fulham was a lift to us and then we disappointed going out there ourselves. It is about what we do, first and foremost, because if we don’t do the job there is no point other teams doing us favours.”

Prediction:
Chelsea will look to put the disappointment of midweek behind them by going top of the table, for 24 hours at least and that incentive will prove enough to dispose of a Norwich side that appears is in freefall and destined for the Championship. Chelsea to win by three.
