Cheltenham Festival Day Two gets underway with Sprinter Sacre in the Champion Chase, as we bring you tips, free bets and and a superb offer from a well known UK firm.
Coral bookmakers report they are offering race favourite Sprinter Sacre, normally a 1/6 shot at a price of evens, which the firm report is proving extremely popular, with liabilites already well over £1m
Day two of the Cheltenham Festival takes place on Wednesday and the excitement is building to see one of the best chasers around – Sprinter Sacre – in action.
Sprinter Sacre at Evens – How to claim
Coral bookmakers are offering wonderhorse Sprinter Sacre at EVENS in the QM Champion Chase today at 3.20. There’s also £60 worth of free bets to pick up! Don’t miss out – Claim here!
Nicky Henderson’s charge races in the highlight event of the day, which is the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
At the moment, most bookmakers are offering the favourite at around 1/4, but Coral still have their offer of evens for Sprinter Sacre available. For many people, it is all about how much he wins by rather than if he does come out on top here.
Henderson’s gelding won the Arkle trophy last year of course, so does have the knowhow at this famous Festival and there is no doubt he is going to be a big favourite with the supporters on Wednesday afternoon.
He was last seen storming to victory in the Victor Chandler Chase in January, another race that was at Cheltenham. There are not many better sights than Sprinter Sacre storming to a victory and flying over fences, so many will be hope to see that this week.
Henderson is going for his third win in the Queen Mother Champion Chase and with the form this trainer is in at the moment, it is tough to make a case for anyone else in this race.
The bookies only seem to have one horse as a possible challenger to Sprinter Sacre at the moment and that is 6/1 shot Sizing Europe, who won this race back in 2011.
Sizing Europe was pipped to first place last time out by Finian’s Rainbow and will be desperate for a win here. However, each-way betting is likely to be popular for the second favourite given the quality he is up against.
It is worth noting that Sizing Europe has finished in the top three on all 21 of his runs over fences, so he certainly does look good for a place finish.
In terms of the other entries for this encounter, you have Mail de Bievre at 16/1 and then Somersby, Sanctuaire and Wishfull Thinking all around the 28/1 mark.
Finally, Tataniano is out at 150/1.
Another big race to come from the Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday afternoon is the Fred Winter Hurdle as it looks like being full of quality.
At the moment, Paul Nicholls has two front-runners in the shape of Saphir Du Rheu and Ptit Zig, who are available at 7/1 and 11/1 respectively.
Then, you have the likes of Megalypos, Kalmann and Borini, who can all be backed at 10/1, which shows you just how tight this Fred Winter Hurdle is. It sees some of the best trainers and jockeys lock horns, so should be a very entertaining race.
However, Wednesday is all about Sprinter Sacre and just what he can achieve in the Queen Mother Chase. He is going to be heavily backed and there is no doubt if anywhere near his best, we will see something really special from Nicky Henderson’s charge.
Bring on another day at this famous event.
