Brighton and Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has confirmed that Crystal Palace are close to signing out of contract striker Glenn Murray.
The 27 year old has netted over 50 goals in close to 130 appearances whilst at the Seagull’s having joined them from Rochdale in 2008 however with his contract coming to an end, Poyet has said that an offer from Crystal Palace can probably not be matched by themselves.
“We are getting close to a final decision, they are offering plenty of money and we cannot compete with that, so it’s difficult.”
With Murray likely on his way out the news may heighten the speculation regarding Michael Owen moving to the South coast.
