Louis van Gaal has been handed a huge boost after Manchester United’s medical staff informed him that the midfielder is set to make a comeback in 2015
The Netherlands international suffered a serious knee injury while on national duty during the 6-0 win over Latvia in November and has missed around eight games due to this.
However, the versatile midfielder who signed this summer from Ajax Amsterdam, has already returned to light training and would be looking to make sure that he is fit in time for the second half of the campaign.
And Blind was clearly happy with his return to the team and posted a message on his Instagram page, reading, “the football boots are back! Started training outside again, great feeling!”
However, the game against Newcastle United has come in a little early for the Dutchman after Van Gaal revealed that he will not be in contention for the Boxing Day fixture against Alan Pardew’s men.
At the moment, The Red Devils are without three main central midfielders with Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera out due to illness and minor muscle injury respectively.
However, the duo is expected to be fit before Blind which is another boost for Van Gaal who has had to deal with a lot of injuries since his arrival.
