Melbourne Rebels and England fly half Danny Cipriani has been stood down from possible team selection for the next clash against the Reds after he was found guilty of breaching team protocol by the club’s players standards group.
Cipriani, and team mate Richard Kingi were found guilty after it emerged that both players had stayed out late after the recent loss the the Waratah’s.
Club captain of the Rebels Tim Davidson expressed his disappointment on the rugby teams official site.
“We have taken this action due to a breach of team protocol, we are very protective of our standards and we are disappointed that these players have put themselves before the team.”
The Melbourne Rebels teams players were asked not to stay out late after losing to the Waratah’s especially as their next game was only six days away.
The action taken means both Cipriani and Kingi will not be available for selection for the next match against the Reds.
