Dario Gradi seeking striker reinforcements
Crewe Alexandra manager, Dario Gradi, is looking to add two strikers to his squad before the new campaign begins.
Clayton Donaldson, who was the club’s top scorer last season, joined Brentford earlier this month while Ajay Leitch-Smith has suffered a thigh injury.
Gradi spoke to the Crewe website, stating: “I would like another striker or even two,”
The manager added: “I wouldn’t necessarily need two to go straight into the team but I would like them to be good enough to go straight in if I needed them too.”
The Cheshire outfit boss will not settle on quality however, and said: “I cannot anticipate AJ being fit for a long period over the season, so we will need to do something but I refuse to bring in someone just for the sake of it. It has to be the quality we are after.”
