The Scotland international will be returning to Old Trafford in a coaching capacity once he hangs his boots.
The holding midfielder is nearing a move to West Ham United and is expected to put pen to paper on a three and a half year contract with the London club.
And although he leaves United with the feeling that he could have achieved even more, the player is still keen to return one day and become part of the club’s coaching staff. Moreover, former teammate and current assistant manager Ryan Giggs has also told Fletcher to return to Manchester United once he retires and has told him that as long as he wants it, there will always be a place for him at Old Trafford.
