Derby lost for just the fourth time this season last weekend, going down to a 2-0 defeat away to Leeds United.

Despite the loss they remain top, after both Bournemouth and Middlesbrough blew late leads.

Brighton & Hove Albion dropped into the relegation zone, after they lost 2-1 at home to an improving Fulham side.

Darren Bent opened the scoring on his debut for Brighton against his former club, however Fulham rallied and turned the game around.

Rams Boss Steve McLaren:

We have a squad, though, a good squad and when one player goes out, another player has an opportunity.

“This period last season, we lost him for eight or nine games and young Michael Keane came in and did very well.

“We went on a good run in December and it is a squad game. You are going to lose your best players at certain times and you have to deal with that.

“We have got players who come in, make an impact and do a job. If it’s Jake Buxton, he was one of the best players last season, our Player of the Year, he will be able to come in and do that job for us.”

Hugo Rodallega equalised for the visitors, before Lasse Vigen Christensen won the game late on for Fulham.

The pair met four times last season, after both made it to the end of season play-offs, although Derby won all four meetings.

Both matches at Pride Park were won by the hosts, including a thumping 4-1 win in the play-offs that saw Derby reach the final.

Team news
Richard Keogh is a major doubt for Derby County after going off injured against Leeds United last weekend.

Chris Martin and Johnny Russell are once again expected to be the furthest forward players for Derby.

Jordan Ibe has impressed whilst on loan from Liverpool and should be given a starting role on the weekend.

Bent will again feature for Brighton and could be partnered up front by Sam Baldock, who has struggled for goals since his move.

The on loan pair of Elliott Bennett and Gary Gardner will both start in midfield, with the experienced Aaron Hughes in defence.

Derby: Grant, Christie, Keogh, Shotton, Forsyth, Hendrick, Bryson, Hughes, Ibe, Martin, Russell

Brighton: Stockdale, Bruno, Hughes, Dunk, Bennett, Gardner, Forster-Caskey, E. Bennett, Ince, Baldock, Bent
