Alan Connell has completed his switch from Grimsby to Swindon Town for an undisclosed six-figure sum.
The striker, who scored 29 goals last season, was advised to move to Swindon by former teammate Lee Peacock.
In an interview with the Swindon Town website, Alan commented:
“Lee is a very good friend of mine from Grimsby, and he couldn’t speak highly enough of this place,”
“He actually said it was the best club he ever played for, and that was good enough for me.”
Connell also stated how excited he was to work under Paolo Di Canio, adding: “To be honest when I was told about the interest last week my first thought was how brilliant it would be to work with Paolo Di Canio and I’m delighted it’s all happened.”
Connell has won promotion to League One with Torquay and Hereford in the past, a feat his new boss will be hoping he can repeat.
