Paris St Germain keeper Salvatore Sirigu revelled that he is excited about the prospect of LA Galaxy player David Beckham moving to the French club. The former England skipper is out of contract from November and is expected to leave the Major League Soccer club. Tottenham, and QPR have also been linked with the midfielder, whilst freely-spending Championship club Leicester have also revealed their interest.
However, Ligue 1 leaders PSG are favourites to sign the 36-year-old and have made no secret of their desire to sign him.
Sirigu, a summer signing from Palermo, is convinced that Beckham would still be a great addition to the squad.
“I am fascinated by the possibility Beckham could join us,” the Italian told PSG’s official website. “He is still a good player, despite his age.”
Sirigu continued, “I had the chance to play against him when he was at AC Milan. He is a player who could change the image of the club. Beckham’s arrival would be very important for the club.”
Sirigu says he is happy with his start to life in Paris, with PSG three points clear at the top of the standings.
