However, Rafael Benitez will be wary of the threat that the Swiss side pose and knows that an away goal brings them right back into the tie.
A last-gasp David Luiz free-kick gave the European Champions a victory last week and if they perform at their best this evening, they should reach the final comfortably.
The Bridge needs to be rocking and Fernando Torres has to lead the line well, taking any chances that might be presented to him. It isn’t much of a surprise to see Torres leading the way in the first goal-scorer market and you can back him at 9/2 to break the deadlock tonight.
Chelsea have played three games on home soil in this compeition this campaign and although they have conceded a goal in each match, they have also scored seven.
Basel would have been extremely disappointed to have conceded so late on in the first leg and they now have no choice but to come and attack as they have to score at least two goals tonight.
After finding the net twice against Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round though, the Swiss club should be confident coming into this one.
It is going to take their best performance in the Europa League so far, but an early goal would bring the away team right back into this tie. They are out at 10/1 to qualify though, so the bookies don’t give them much of a chance.
The other encounter to look at sees Benfica host Fenerbahce and with the latter currently leading 1-0, it is all to play for in this second leg.
Benfica are the 10/11 favourites to qualify for the final, but they have to put in a big performance here and make sure they don’t concede as they didn’t manage to get an away goal in Turkey.
The leaders in Portugal’s top flight will be in good spirits coming into this one after a win at Maritimo last time out and with three wins from three home matches in the Europa League, they should come out on top here.
As for Fenerbahce, the first leg was the perfect performance from them as they managed to score, but more importantly, kept a clean sheet.
The away side are unbeaten in this competition on the road this campaign and have conceded just once in their last six matches, so backing them to qualify at 20/19 could prove to be decent value.
Both ties sit in the balance and with the teams trailing all but certain to attack, we could see plenty of goals and drama in these two encounters. They each get underway at 8.05pm and with the way the Europa League has gone so far, expect the unexpected.
