Liverpool face a tough home tie against Serie A outfit Udinese in Group A and the Reds will be looking to build on their victory in the opening match against Young Boys.

Brendan Rodgers will want a solid defensive performance from his side, after a dramatic match two-weeks-ago saw them come out 5-3 winners. Rodgers is sure to make plenty of changes to his team that played Norwich on Saturday, but put out a side he feels can win comfortably, but the Reds do look a little on the skinny side at 4/6 and punters will be all over the 9/2 available on the Italians with Bet365.

Even though it is not the Champions League, you can bank on an electric atmosphere on Merseyside for this one.

Newcastle are also at home as they take on French outfit Bordeaux, who are unbeaten in both Ligue 1 and the Europa League so far this season.

After drawing their first match away from home, Alan Pardew will be looking for all three points in this one, which would be a very good result and start to the competition for the Magpies.

It is always difficult to know what players will be involved in these matches, but if Demba Ba is involved, Newcastle are sure to be a big threat in-front of goal, and he ewill need to be firing on all cylinders as their opponents are also in a great run of form and are currently unbeaten in Ligue 1, and any team holding PSG to a draw needs to be respected – the 9/4 is a touch of value on the away win,

Tottenham are the final English side to look at for Thursday evening and they are on their travels to Greece, to play Panathinaikos.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas wants his side to win the Europa League this season and he is sure to look at this encounter as one his men should be winning. Victory over Manchester United in the Premiership last weekend will give them some much needed confidence as  they make the trip to Greece.

They drew with Lazio last time out, who looks to be the strongest team along with the North Londoners in the group, so a victory would put them in a strong position to qualify, and their price at 5/6 for the away win looks just about right.

It could be a great evening in Europe for these English clubs.
