Everton’s David Moyes aiming to continue record against Man City

Everton manager David Moyes has admitted Everton’s excellent record against Manchester City is a source of pride ahead of today’s clash between the sides at Eastlands.

Everton have only lost one of their last eight games against the Manchester side and have emerged victorious from the last four meetings.

However, Moyes has sought to play down Everton’s dominant record ahead of what will be an extremely tough game against a high flying City side.

“If you mention it, I’ll smile, because we don’t have records like that against so many big teams, but it is just one of those things,” said the Everton boss.

He continued:

“I don’t take it for granted and I’m not looking at it, because you could quite easily tell me that we have a terrible record against lots of teams.”

“I would shrug that aside and I’ll shrug this aside as well – although obviously, I’m going to try to continue it.”

The Toffees boss added that City’s continued investment had made them a frightening prospect:

“It is like going into a gun fight when I’ve got a knife, so I have to find a way of using that right.”
