Claims on Merseyside are reporting that Liverpool and Everton are seeking the signature of Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking Brazilian midfielder Renato Augusto.
Augusto has been pivotal for the Bundesliga team this season, scoring goals and providing many assists leading to second place in Germany’s top division four points clear of Hannover in third.
At 23 years old Augusto remains a player who has years ahead of him and with Liverpool looking to provide more flair in the midfield area the Brazilian does fit the bill.
Everton meanwhile wish to be adding younger legs as long term replacements for the ageing Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill and whilst injuries have affected Augusto in the past, this season has shown them to be a thing of the past.
However a transfer fee of around £11m could put the likes of Everton off leaving the route clear for a bid from their Merseyside rivals.
