Sources close to Footybunker.com have revealed that both Everton and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Nigel Reo-Coker’s current situation at Aston Villa.
It was revealed on Monday that contract talks would wait until the end of the season but it has also been known that Reo-Coker wishes to depart the club after information reached him that he would not be offered an extension.
This not only means that he will be a free agent, but at the age of 26, will be wanted by numerous clubs as they seek to cut down on transfer expenditure. The two teams being brought to our attention are somewhat different in comparison where the transfer market is concerned, with Spurs having access to much more funds than Everton.
However, the chance for Tottenham to acquire the services of Reo-Coker on a free transfer would be welcomed as back up in an area where injuries to their midfield have not been fair on the White Hart Lane club. Everton on the other hand, despite rumoured cut backs to be made in the summer, are looking to boost their squad for next season after a campaign thwart with injuries has left them struggling.
Certain sources within the media have claimed that Reo-Coker remains an interesting player to numerous clubs abroad including Roma, Valencia and Juventus.
