Everton Blackpool Odds : Betting suggests value on Holloway to shock at Goodison

Everton will have the chance to keep their recent resurgence in form going when they go up against Blackpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The Premier League outfit appear to have overcome their obligatory slow start to the season thanks to some shrewd dealing in the January transfer market form manager David Moyes, and with excellent wins against Manchester City and Chelsea under their belt in recent weeks, the Toffees will be eyeing a decent cup run to help end their season on a high.

The return of Steven Pienaar in particular appears to have been the catalyst for Everton’s upturn in fortunes, with the South African winger finding the back of the net against Chelsea last weekend at Goodison Park to mark his return on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

While Pienaar’s return has helped bring the good times back to Everton the impending departure of Landon Donovan will no doubt dampen the spirits on Merseyside, with the American returning to join up with the L.A Galaxy after the game against Blackpool and the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.

The American international has provided the creative spark Everton so desperately needed before his arrival and he’ll look to end his second short-term stint with the club by helping them to the quarter finals of the FA Cup and a win over their fierce rivals next weekend.

Blackpool meanwhile are doing an excellent job of trying to bounce straight back up to the Premier League after being relegated last time round, with Ian Holloway’s side currently occupying 4th spot in the Championship, just four points behind 2nd placed Southampton and five behind league leaders West Ham.

Winger Matt Phillips is touch and go for the game as he continues to feel the effects of a hamstring injury while Neal Eardley, Ludovic Sylvestre, John Fleck, Nouha Dicko and Gary Taylor-Fletcher all played in the 3-1 win over Doncaster last weekend and could feature at Goodison Park.
