Everton goalkeeper admits Toffees have underachieved

Everton keeper Tim Howard wants to push on this seasonEverton goalkeeper Tim Howard has admitted that the squad have underachieved this season but that the final few months of the Premiership will be a thrilling race in which he hopes to overtake Liverpool.

Everton struggled early on in the season and have put numerous results together to climb up the table to an impressive seventh but Howard does not want to stop there.

“We have still got miles to go and we want to keep cracking on, our natural born rivals are right ahead of us and we are going to try to nip on their heels and get a couple of results. The rivalry is amazing and for the city this run-in will be great.”

Everton are currently on 41 points just four behind local rivals Liverpool.

“We are going to try to overtake them and I am sure they are going to try to do everything to crack on in the table as well.””We have under-achieved, and that falls squarely on the shoulders of the players, but we have done enough to dig in and get ourselves into seventh position.”

The Goodison Park stopper added.

“We have an opportunity to look forward and get some more results and push even higher.”
