Everton in pole position to land free midfield agent
David Moyes’ Everton look to be in pole position to land midfielder Joey Barton with the player believed to be prepared to except a small wage decrease to join the Goodison Park side.
Barton has already been told by Newcastle United that he is free to seek out another club with numerous parties obviously interested and favours a move back to where he was born on Merseyside. His wages are an issue though however the Toffees may be prepared to pay his current structure as they shall be saving multiple millions on a transfer fee.
As well as Everton, Arsenal are also apparently interested in the 28 year olds signature however we talks believed to be ongoing between Barton and Everton an official statement is expected this week.
