Redknapp has a superb record against the teams he used to manage as he has only lost twice in the 16 times he has gone up against a former club.
The QPR boss knows that this might be one of the toughest battles of them all though and he must have his squad in the right frame of mind as on their day, Spurs are one of the best teams in the league.
The last Premier League outing for Rangers saw them travel to Chelsea and claim a famous 1-0 victory. If that doesn’t spark a good run of form – then nothing will. The home form has to improve, starting on Saturday, and QPR can really pile the pressure on the teams around them with all three points here.
Adel Taarabt could be the key man for the home side in this one as he is sure to feel as though he has a point to prove after not showing what he is capable of doing at Tottenham. When at his best, the Moroccan is a match-winner that can really be the difference between two sides.
As for Tottenham, they come to West London on the back of three straight Premier League wins and they could move to within just three points of Manchester City with another victory.
If the North London club put in similar performances to what they have in recent weeks, then this should be another good afternoon for them. It is going forward that Andre Villas-Boas’ men are really strong and Redknapp will have to devise a plan to stop winger Gareth Bale coming back to haunt him.
Villas-Boas’ side have been on runs similar to this one already this season and have followed it up with a string of defeats. They cannot afford to do that now if they want to finish in the top four and it doesn’t matter about the performance here, the Portuguese just wants maximum points.
QPR won this fixture last season, with a goal from Taarabt proving to be the winner. A lot has changed at both clubs since then though and that might not be a result to reach much into.
The atmosphere is sure be electric at Loftus Road and both managers have had a fair bit to say in the run-up to this encounter, so it could be quite a fiery affair.
Of course it is a London derby, which always makes for good viewing, but there seems to be an added spice about this one.
It is not a game you want to be missing and with so much attacking talent on show, we could see plenty of goals. It all gets underway from 12.45PM.
