Football Transfer Gossip 25th August 2011
Arsenal sealed their place in the Champions League group stage draw with Wenger himself claiming he expects some arrivals before the transfer window closes. This will certainly create more gossip and rumours however the 61 year old has probably had a few in line for some time and fans of the North London club can expect some decent arrivals over the next week.
QPR, with their new owner are still looking to add some quality with Joey Barton reported to have attended a medical yesterday although one would also expect the side to add a few more in what is likely to be a big week in football transfers.

Manchester United are considering a late move for Santos midfielder Ganso with Sir Alex Ferguson still looking to add depth to his midfield.

Manchester United have taken a step forward in landing Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze next summer by arranging a “first option” on the player should Sir Alex Ferguson wish to add him to the Old Trafford squad next season. The option, believed to be worth close to £1.5m means rival clubs will have to wait on United’s decision on the player first before making an offer.

Chelsea will offer Yossi Benayoun on top of £30m for Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Modric but will only include Daniel Sturridge in the deal on a season long loan.

Juventus are looking to prise both Alex and Florent Malouda from Chelsea with the West London club possibly in a position to accept after the arrival of Juan Mata, and will seek the services of Gary Cahill should Alex decide to leave for the Serie A side.
