Football Transfer Gossip 29th August 2011

Just two days to go and if things are as free flowing as the football we all saw at the weekend then then the remaining gap in the transfer window will surely spring some surprises too.

Arsene Wenger admitted last night that he was close to signing a striker and that would be Park Chu-Young of AS Monaco. Hopefully his decision to join will not have been resting on Arsenal’s result against Manchester United.

Here is a compilation of today’s football transfer gossip.

Both Atletico Madrid and Malaga have made enquiries into Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and may be tempted to bid for the out of form striker in January. The forward has been poor since arriving at Stamford Bridge and the form shown is likely to warrant a reduced bid by both Spanish clubs should the Chelsea management decide to cash in on the flop come January.
