Football Transfer Gossip 2nd September 2011

Only two days have passed since the summer transfer window closed and we are already finding stories and rumours on January transfer targets.

Whilst the final day was quite exciting for Arsenal, for other teams it was perhaps an anti-climax. Many will have been hoping for that big name coming through the doors late on Wednesday evening. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea fans were certainly expecting someone big. The main concern is perhaps that for Tottenham, while they made a statement by keeping Luka Modric on their side of London there was no replacement for Peter Crouch, a player I feel should have been kept instead of Pavlyuchenko.

Still managers run the clubs and websites do not. Whilst it was not the most spectacular of transfer deadline days, the season, despite this boring international break that we have to put up with, looks as though it will be one of the most exciting ever.

Here is a compilation of today’s football transfer gossip.
