Frank Lampard is preparing to face Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney tonight and admits the player will have something extra about him in light of the recent FA charge for swearing.
Chelsea face Manchester United tonight in the Champions League quarter final which sees Rooney playing his last match before a two match suspension should his appeal be thrown out.
The Chelsea playmaker is convinced the recent charge could have a negative effect on the West London club in tonight’s clash.
“Wayne is always a very competitive player and there is never a good time to be playing against him, but there’s a chance that the ban might spur him on even more. When you get negative headlines like he’s had it can make you more of a threat.”
The Chelsea midfielder added.
“But Wayne is a fantastic player and he’ll definitely be a threat against us.”
